Cherry Blossom Festival!

The Cherry Blossom Festival is in full bloom for the spring and not only can you can see many of the beautiful trees everywhere but you can get one of your own!  Click HERE for a very informative guide on the forums.

As you can see here I have a garden full of them.  You can just harvest them with your hands or a hoe from wild herbs, thought they are a rare drop and take about 6 hours to grow into a mature tree.  They drop approx. 10-13 petals each.  They take up 2 spaces in a garden so with a waterway and scarecrow I can fit 4.

The petals can be sold for about 10,000 silvers each, eaten for a nice buff, or handed in to the NPC seed vendor outside of the Lily of the Valley Inn at Heidel, Skill Instructor Hunt.

You can acquire a lovely minature Cherry Tree in a planter for your home for 10 petals:

OR you can get a very nice Cherry Blossom Festival Earring for 30 petals:

The items are family bound so you will not be seeing them on the AH and the earring is also dyeable.  Better get your farm going if you want them!

Armor 3d Model Viewer

I happened to find this handy tool that allows you to view the models of armor depending on class.  It kind of reminds me of Wowhead's online model viewer.

Emote Trigger Customization

All this changing my hair is really stressing it out.  NOT!  I'm loving this too much.

Another thing the character appearance change coupon is good for is changing character mood to a situation too!

Did you also know you can customize an emote so that it triggers based upon a word entered into your chat?  You can bring up your emotes by hitting the enter key and clicking on the "S" to the right of the text entry field.  Unfortunately you do not have access to some of the emotes and poses until later levels.

QUESTS! EVERYEWHERE!!

You possibly did not know this but there are way more quests than meet the eye.  I happened to find this out accidentally when I went into my quest log (The O button) and clicked on the "All" button as it was not toggled on.  You can find it on the right side up at the top above the quest list right below the word "Quests".

Once that was toggled on... Tada!  Almost EVERY NPC had some kind of quest for me.  Processing, Life Skills, and more!  As you can see the green and gold quest icons in the picture below are showing for NPCs that don't usually give you quests.  You can thank me later!

Toggle Walk Workaround

To Set Toggle Walk:

This may take some practice.  Hit ESC to get to Settings then go to Input.  Scroll down the list of key bindings and find Walking.  It should be set to Caps Lock by default but that is a pain in the bumbum.  So what you do is set it to a key on your number pad--my favorite is the 7 key.  Apply and confirm to save it.  Now, when you try to walk press the button you set it to instead of Caps Lock and then Number Lock once while you are doing it and it should keep you in walking mode.  Hit the 7 and Number Lock again to run.  Voila!

The Beauty Shoppe: Character Appearance Change Coupons!

If you weren't happy with your character's appearance the first time around the Pearl Store offers a single use/one-time Character Appearance Change Coupons in the Beauty section for 800 Pearls (approx. $8.00).  However, for only 1000 Pearls (approx. $10) you can get a coupon that allows unlimited changes for ALL of your characters for an entire MONTH!  Isn't that fantastic?!

I'm not sure if many of you realize the potential of this!  You can literally RP your character changing hairstyles, changing makeup, wounds/scars, getting in shape, growing up, and a whole lot more.  The ideas for this are limitless.

You can easily change your character in game by clicking F4 to open the character creation screen and edit away.  You can load and save different presets to work with as well.

Attention to Detail: More Lighting

Filtered sunlight through closed translucent windows that changes with the time of day and angle of the sun...  WHAAAAAAAT?!

Visual Furniture Guide

Here is a Visual Furniture Guide to housing decor in BDO.  The page is in Korean so you may wish to have your browser translate it.  I know most browsers like chrome come equipped with a plugin that allows you to right click on the page to do so.

Character Creation: Aschlei

I wanted to make a warrior so I came up with this.  He's pretty creepy...

Valkerie Agerian Set

Please note that this is not an armor from the paid store.  Just a plain ol' silvers purchase/loot drop in the game.  The boots are also Talis Armor which is the same.  Dyes can really make your appearance feel more unique and distinguished.

Just look at that killer smile!

Character Creation: Dark Skinned Beauty

I absolutely love creating dark skinned characters.  This was one I did up for a friend and I think she came out pretty gorgeous!

Attention to Detail: Climbing

I can't even begin to tell you how much fun my husband and I are having with the climbing and parkour in this game...

Climbing on ladders... Yes, you actually climb the ladders.

 On rooftops...

On top of really high towers...

And up in trees...

This world is just full of endless and awesome RP spots.

A Devilish Horsey: Karlstein Barding

This barding set for the horses is absolutely amazing, especially when dyed to match your theme.  It just makes riding a horse a billion times more fun.  As it is I simply enjoy riding my horse around the countrysides and exploring or simply for relaxation.  The world is immense and the transition between zones and landscapes is seamlessly flawless!  Just going from Heidel to Calpheon made my day.

Attention to Detail: Lighting and Shadows

As you can see the light from the setting sun is streaming in through a window of my cabin and casting dramatic, realistic shadows on us and the wall behind me.  So gorgeous!  As you can see below the lighting changes with the environment and setting sun.  The detail and texture of the fabric changed with it.  The only single critique I have is that sometimes the hair is glowing in the dark but knowing what I do know about alpha transparent textures and technology it's difficult to fix that issue.

BDO Fashion: Yuria Amulet & Jubre Talisman

I really had to show how beautiful these looked! The detail on the talisman with the skulls is very elegant and witchy--perfect for that dark hearted sorceress.

Attention to Detail: Thunderstorms!

This game NEVER ceases to amaze me. The weather system in this game is phenomenal. While I was out fishing at night there was a lightning and thunderstorm where the wind picked up and all the grass and trees were blowing in a realistic fashion. When it rains your character gets wet and stays wet for some time after.
